Dr. Whitaker's Guide to Healthy Living
Improve your sleep
Many of us neglect a very important health process: sleep. Americans
spend 20 percent less time sleeping than we did a century ago, and
yet our lives have only gotten more hectic. Lack of sleep affects
many body processes, from mental clarity and mood to physical energy
and immune function.
To enhance your ability to sleep, develop a bedtime routine. Go to bed and
get up at the same time every day, and avoid alcohol, caffeine,
and strenuous exercise several hours before bed. Keep your room
quiet and dark and the temperature even.
Kill bacteria and viruses all day long
The air you breathe is doing more than keeping you alive it's giving a free ride to bacteria, viruses, toxic chemicals, dust
and molds. The Sun Pure
Air Purifier gets rid of these pollutants so your
family breathes the purest, healthiest air possible. UV light kills
the bacteria and viruses that make you ill. A hospital-grade HEPA
filter removes 95.5 percent of allergens down to .3 microns (a human
hair is more than three times wider!), and an activated carbon filter
eliminates odors and gases. Super quiet and efficient, it also has
an unconditional two-year warranty.
Remove harmful substances found in your water system
When you pour yourself a glass of water you may be ingesting more
harmful contaminants than you'd care to know about. That's why you
should filter all the water you drink. In addition to having a filter
at the kitchen sink, you may also want an easy-to-use, portable
filter. The AQUASPACE Water
Carafe, using NASA filtration technology, removes 45 volatile
organic compounds without taking out the essential minerals your
body needs. The filter works for an entire year, filtering up to
500 gallons of water and weighs just over a pound, making it easy
to take and use anywhere.
