Healthy Grilling: Chipotle Burgers

spicesOn Monday, I shared some safe grilling secrets for meals that are free of carcinogens. Today, as promised, I want to share an easy, delicious, and healthy recipe you can cook up on the barbeque.

 

This recipe uses ground turkey, instead of ground beef, so it’s more heart healthy—and contains less fat that can drop on the grill. Plus, the heat of the chipotle chilies gives it a lot of flavor. Just one bite and you’ll be hooked!

 

Chipotle Burgers
Serves 4

 

Ingredients

1   pound lean ground turkey

2   teaspoons garlic, minced

1-2   chipotle chilies in adobo sauce, minced (very hot, more or less to taste)

¼  teaspoon ground cumin

¼  teaspoon ground cinnamon

 

Directions

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and blend well. Shape into four patties and grill until cooked through.

 

Per Serving: Calories 173.1, Total Fat 8.1gr (Sat 2.5g, Mono .1g, Poly .1g), Cholesterol 80mg, Sodium 183.8g, Carbs 3.2g,  Fiber .4g, Protein 22.2g.
