Researchers from the University of California at Berkeley compared the health of 278 people who took a variety of multivitamins, minerals, herbs, and other supplements for at least 20 years with a control group who took only a multivitamin or no supplements at all.
Now, compared to the control group, the serious supplement takers were 73 percent less likely to have diabetes and 39 percent less likely to have hypertension. They also had much better levels of homocysteine, C-reactive protein, triglycerides, and HDL cholesterol.
This study reinforces what I have been saying for 30 years—nutritional supplements are by far your best health insurance.
