Gather up your friends—social exercise gets the best possible results

Are you having trouble sticking with an exercise program? Here's a simple tip for staying on track: make it social.

Find friends who are also eager to make a commitment and work out together. Meet a neighbor for a morning walk, play tennis with a friend, join a cycling or a running club, or sign up for a basketball or softball league. It's much harder to sleep in if someone's waiting for you. And if your team or partner is counting on you, you'll be more motivated to show up.

Who knows? You might find an activity you actually enjoy and exercise will no longer be a chore.
